Clay Bust Portraiture Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:00pm Sept 16 - Nov 18 (10 classes) All materials included. Explore the world of figurative ceramics in this sculptural class. Using white earthenware clay or terracotta, we'll start with small exercises in sculpting by crafting different facial features like lips, noses, and eyes. Then we will move our way up to busts (a sculpted or cast representation of the head and upper torso of a person, often seen as a portrait). using the skill from the previous exercises. Busts will be built completely solid out of clay, and then hollowed out by hand. Students will also have access to glazes and can expect to have a finished 10-12 inch bust sculpture by the end of this class. Instructor: Taylor Mezo
