We will also explore expressive storytelling through stop motion animation using characters and props using felt and fabrics. Our projects will include: Appliqué Fabric Portraits: Students will dive into the art of "painting with fabric." By layering and stitching colorful textile scraps, they will create a stylized self-portrait or a character study, focusing on composition, pattern and color theory. Loom Weaving: Focusing on rhythm and texture, students will learn the fundamentals of warp and weft. We will experiment with different yarn weights and fibers to create a unique wall hanging. Signature Stuffies: Students will bring a character to life from sketch to stitch. This project covers the basics of pattern making, machine and hand-sewing, and finishing techniques to create a one-of-a-kind plush companion. No class November 3rd. Soft Sculpture: Food Moving into the 3D realm, artists will design and "cook" their favorite foods using felt and stuffing. This project explores form and volume, turning everyday objects into whimsical art pieces.
