March: Talavera Pottery Inspired Planters: Coil Building / Surface design 4 Sessions (March: 4, 11, 18, 25) Wednesday 6:30pm-8:30pm Talavera has both Spanish and Mexican origins; it is a type of pottery from Spain that was brought to Mexico and later developed into a distinct Mexican art form. The name "Talavera" comes from the city of Talavera de la Reina in Spain, but today, authentic Talavera pottery is certified as originating from designated areas in Mexico. In this class, we will make planter vessels inspired by the form and intricate surface designs of this tradition.
