Tuesdays (April 7 - May 5 ) Ages 10-13 6:30-7:30pm 5 weeks $175 Instructor: Branden Koch In this fun and intensive 5-session course, we will look at how to draw various animals and animal features through simplifying line and form using ellipses and shape proportion. Emphasis will be placed on specific drawing exercises from references and demonstration that take the mystery out of drawing from observation, discovering simple forms in nature, learning how to capture form and expression with fast drawing, and developing personally expressive hand made imagery. Serious students only. Each class will be only one-hour of intensive instruction with a group workshop vibe. Take home practice assignments will be provided. Week 1 : Mastering the ellipse, how to use it to find form in animal anatomy. Week 2: Practicing Proportions : gesture and hand/eye-training. Week 3: Shading : Illusion of texture, space, form / shading / animal eyes. Week 4 : Large scale drawing I : charcoal and eraser. Week 5: Large Scale drawing II, charcoal and eraser.
