Sew Cool! Fridays 4:30-5:30pm Ages 8-14 Sept 11 - Nov 20 11 Classes $390 Have you ever wanted to design and bring an original character to life? In this new sewing studio course, you will become a character designer! Students will sew and construct a massive, 3-foot custom plush sculpture. We will provide a baseline pattern for everyone, but the final design is completely up to you. Whether your sidekick is a futuristic alien, a stylized creature, a mini version of yourself, or a new companion, you will learn how to add custom variations to the pattern to make it unique. We will dive into character-building techniques, using embroidery to map out expressive facial features, textures, and personality traits. Once your sidekick is stuffed and sculpted, we will shift into garment design, drafting custom patterns to sew clothing and gear tailored specifically to your character's backstory. Prerequisite: Previous sewing machine experience required. Students must be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine independently. Taught by Kate Gugliotta
