"Painting : Fantasy and Fiction" (Ages 12-15yrs) / 4:30pm-5:30pm /Jan 12 - Mar 15 / 10 classes This class will look at painting specifically from references, with different kinds of water based paints, surfaces, and color worlds. Blending a bit of academic technique with fun subject matter, students will brush up on their skills and invent fun ways of making paintings broadly exploring themes of "Fantasy and Fiction. Throughout this class, students will create paintings within the concept of "world building:" where an artist develops a detailed and plausible fictional world mapping the landscape, boundaries, and characters, in which to tell a convincing story. Fans of fantasy, sci-fi, and video games, this painting class is for you!
